For Delish, the overall target audience is customers who are at the luxury end of the food market that have disposable income that they are free to spend on luxury food however they choose. They typically have a food orientated lifestyle and take where their food is sourced into consideration when purchasing it. The target age group for this product is people of 20 plus years, and they typically will have a specific diet such as a gluten free diet.
My ideas for my designs are that they are all made out of recylable cardboard which would appeal to the audience as its ethical and environmentally friendly, which considering that the target audience will typically care about where their food is sourced, they are likely to appreciate that the material the packaging is made out of is environmentally friendly as well.
My first idea would appeal to the audience because the design is quirky and original, which would appeal to them because they will be choosy about what products they buy and an original design idea would draw potential customers in. The design idea would stand out on the shelf and make the product look appealing to the customers.
The second design idea would appeal to the audience because the mermaid graphic would be cute and intriguing which could gain the favour of the audience. It would be colourful which would stand out on the shelf and make the product look more appealing overall to the audience. The packaging would be youthful which fits the target age group but it wouldn’t be tacky or juvenile.
The third design idea would appeal to the target audience because the use of photography on the package is original, which would appeal to the audience in the same way as the first design idea would. The design promotes and emphasies an organic theme which would appeal to the audience as typically they will favour luxury organic products that are naturally sourced and produced. The tranparent area would show the product itself which would draw the customers in as they will then know what the actual product itself looks like and they can then judge whether or not they would like to purchase the product.
